Working with a file and angle grinder on a brand-new shaft is incredibly nerve-wracking. The key couldn't even be removed with the subsequently added extraction threads, which speaks volumes about the brute force with which the key was pressed into the keyway... Fortunately, there were no visible hammer marks.
