The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup
The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup will take place for the second time ever this year! The last Red Bull Youth America’s Cup took place in San Francisco in 2013 and is considered to be a huge stepping stone for young sailors aspiring to take part in the official America’s Cup. The Youth Cup was founded by the America’s Cup and has since been taken under the wings of sports directors, Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher. Participants of the Youth Cup must be between 19 and 24 years of age. Six America’s Cup teams also have a "youth team" from the outset – all of the other teams have to qualify for the race on their own behalf. The training and qualifying groups for Bermuda 2017 have already been announced! SVB Team Germany is in Group A and will be competing in the qualifying round against Team Artemis Youth Racing (Sweden), Team France Jeune (France), Kaijin Team Japan (Japan), Youth Vikings Denmark (Denmark) and Team Tilt (Switzerland ).
