It's so easy to use
Step 1: Select power cable or antenna cable and start configurator.
For your project, you can select the ideal cable from our wide range of high-quality options, choosing by type, intended application, cross-section, material, colour and specific properties. The final length, terminations, and appropriate connection accessories for both ends of the cable can be configured directly on the product. Ordering is quick and easy, on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
Step 2: Configure the first end connection.
Personalise the first end of the cable exactly as you wish. For power cables, select the appropriate cable lugs and the desired crimp angle; for antenna cables, choose the correct connectors – or proceed without a connection and customise the cable ends to your requirements. You can see what you have selected instantly in the graphic preview. Satisfied? On we go!
Step 3: Configure the second end connection.
Now you can select the second end connection and adjust the length of the cable. The preview shows all changes in real time. Specify the desired end length for the cable – and your customised cable crimping is ready.

Custom-made cable - the highest German quality
We know that not all cables are the same. You will be surprised at how diverse our corrosion-resistant cable configurations are. A waterproof cable configuration manufactured by us withstands harsh conditions such as corrosion, pressure, and constant movement.
Standard cables are destined to fail under these conditions—not only in industrial and mechanical engineering applications, but also in the maritime sector. To complete your electrical system, we supply the right cable configuration solution, using exclusively high-quality materials from renowned manufacturers. We also offer modern and innovative products for configuration.
For this purpose, you require specially manufactured, corrosion-resistant custom-made cables.
- Corrosion protection through tin plating
- Vibration resistance and flexibility
- Precise fit and voltage drop
- Insulation durability
- Correct connections, e.g. for steering systems

Order online and have it delivered anywhere in the world
Whether crimping, soldering or tinning: for us, making sure your cable ends are properly and securely finished is especially important, because if they’re not done right, it can lead to contact resistance and voltage loss. These issues may lead to intermittent connections and pose a significant fire hazard.
That’s why we also thoroughly inspect all work for quality and functionality before shipment. Our customised cables are made exclusively from the finest products by renowned manufacturers. We use only high-quality components that are made in Europe.
Tested, approved, and carefully selected for you – by experienced sailors, for sailors. Of course, all power and antenna cables from the SVB product range can be directly selected for your custom order on the product page of our online shop.

Frequently asked questions about cable products (FAQs)
Good to know: What type of cable do you need?
Cables and installation materials play a crucial role in your electrical installations on board. To ensure that the planned yacht electrical system works without any problems, even if you build it yourself, it is necessary to obtain sufficient information about the appropriate installation materials and boat cables.
Please note: Correct cabling, taking into account the required parameters, is crucial for the device to function properly. Even minor errors often have serious consequences. Customised design of cables and connectors ensures long-term reliability, especially in critical applications with increased requirements.
Which cable do you need for your specific application? There is a wide selection: power cables, antenna cables or other cables sold by the metre? Choosing the right cable type is crucial for your cable assembly. Cables are primarily distinguished by their structure and intended use. The right type of cable ensures the functionality and durability of the end product. Here are the most important types of cables:
- Single wires (stranded wire): These are highly flexible and consist of many thin copper wires. They are used for the main power supply, as battery cables, for starters, alternators, bow thrusters, and much more.
- Coaxial cables: Specifically designed for high-frequency signals such as radio, TV, and GPS.
- Hybrid cables: Combine different functions in one cable, for example power supply and data transmission.
How can I calculate the cable cross-section?
The cable cross-section refers to the pure area of the copper conductor inside a cable when viewed in cross-section. It is specified in square millimetres (mm²). Only the metal through which the current flows is taken into account, not the total outer diameter including insulation.
Do not choose cables based on the outer diameter alone: to avoid excessive heating of the cable and to keep voltage drop as low as possible, the required cable cross-sections must be carefully determined. The voltage drop between the power source and the consumer must not exceed 10% (1.2 V at 12 V).
Do you need support in calculating the correct cable cross-section for a specific device on your boat (e.g. inverter or anchor windlass)? Then feel free to contact us. You can also find all relevant information directly on all SVB product pages for cables and calculate the cable cross-section required for your application.
Calculate cable cross-section and order pre-assembled cablesHow do I route cables on a boat?
Power and data cables are routed throughout the entire boat. Covers must be removed, suitable cable routes identified, and a distribution point defined. In this video guide, we show you how to install new cables on board quickly and easily.
When was the last time you checked your yacht’s electrical system?
Important note: Improper wiring can lead to a boat fire. If you have any questions about your yacht’s electrical system, please contact us. Our SVB technicians will be happy to help you.
As soon as you discover faults in the wiring or the first signs of damage or breaks, replacement is absolutely necessary, as defective wiring on board poses a very high safety risk. Yacht insurers regularly report that technical defects — and in particular the boat’s electrical system — are among the most common causes of fires on yachts.
There are no legally prescribed intervals for replacing on-board electrical systems. Therefore, the decision of when to renew the yacht’s electrical system is left to the boat owner. This is somewhat surprising, as the wet environment and temperature fluctuations often lead to cable corrosion at a much earlier stage.
Experts recommend a complete overhaul of the wiring on yachts that are more than 20 to 25 years old. Because boats operate in an extreme environment (temperature fluctuations, salt, vibrations, and moisture), cables age much faster than they do in a house.
In most cases, this ageing process is not visible at first glance. Some owners then ask themselves: “Why should I replace the wiring of a light if it still seems to work perfectly?” Aren’t there more important things?
But caution is advised: material failure often occurs sooner than expected. Regular and particularly thorough inspection of the yacht’s electrical system is essential. Visible damage is an immediate warning sign. We recommend inspecting cables and electrical installations at least once a year—ideally when winterising—for breaks, kinks, or chafing of the insulation.
Carry out a contact check and inspect all connections to batteries or panels. Examine all cables, devices, and surrounding areas for discoloration caused by heat or corrosion. As soon as you discover the first signs of damage, replacement is absolutely necessary.
Even though the 12-volt system appears to operate at a low voltage, it still poses a high potential risk. The amount of energy a yacht battery can release in the event of a short circuit should never be underestimated.
Our tip: Compared to the potential consequential damage caused by a fire, the cost of new wiring is relatively low. Invest in your safety in good time.
