The self-tailing winches from ANDERSEN combine outstanding quality and performance with a timeless, elegant design. The stainless steel drum features unbeatable resistance and will look as good as new even after years of use. No oxidation or chrome flaking off! This ANDERSEN winch has a surprisingly low weight, which is comparable to that of aluminium winches. The patented Power-Rib-System ensures a perfect grip of the sheet on the drum. The patented selftailing heads automatically adjust themselves to the proper diameter of the sheet in use. Frictional loss is minimal and the applied force is directed straight to the sheet. Bearings, axles and pawls are made of stainless steel, the gear wheels of high quality aluminium bronze.

For me, absolutely.

Before, I had old 20-foot Parat winches with "Winsherns" – plastic rings around the upper winch disc that allowed you to clip the sheet in, basically a poor man's self-tailing winch.

The Andersen winches are true self-tailing winches, and two-speed ones at that.

And everything about them is fantastic.

They are smooth, safe, fast, and powerful, and don't have any "friction surface" that would put undue stress on the line.

A real upgrade. I couldn't get the genoa sheeted in this tight before.
