Not permanently!

The shimmer switch works with a microswitch and a ball. The construction is robust, but not permanently waterproof. As it is always under construction due to its cable entry, this is a source of error. The seal is made only by a pressed rubber ring. After two seasons, the switch inside was damp and the contacts oxidized. No buy recommendation.
