The eyelet seems sturdy, and I expect it will withstand the necessary stresses in an emergency. Since the ring has a little play, it might rattle in rough seas. Simply glue a piece of rubber or felt to the spot where the ring will be before installation – and that should solve the problem. For the price, I find it acceptable.
