Description says it is 'chrome polished', but what is base material? Is this made of metal (eg brass ) or plastic with chrome plating? Suspect it is plastic because it is very cheap

Richard, they are plastic with chrome plateing. One comment to forward to you is that if you are to change the rosettes together with the button, I found best is to insert a socket of the same diameter of the rosette and hammer them out.
