Gute und dauerhafte Verarbeitung. Brauche den Schalter nicht im maritimen Bereich, sondern für einen Rasenmähertrecker. Dafür reicht auch das Maß an Wasserdichtigkeit. Ob ich auf meinem Schiff einen solchen Schalter verbauen würde, weiß ich nicht. Das Ober- und Unterteil des Schalters sind nicht miteinander verklebt sondern nur durch Rasten zusammengehalten. Man kann den Schalter somit auseinanderbauen, Wasser kann aber auch eindringen. Die Kontakte sind nicht mit dem Schalterboden vergossen. Dieser Schalter ist definitiv NICHT WASSERDICHT. Aber wie gesagt: für meine Zwecke ausreichend und somit von mir eine gute Bewertung.

Product details

Carlingtech switch series Contura – absolutely water-and dust-proof button for unlimited indoor and outdoor use. These switches are used worldwide by leading shipyards for serial production. Switching power: 12 V/20 A, 24 V/10 A.

Available with or without LED lights (the LEDs are suitable for 12 and 24 volt operation). The 2-pole switch/button is suitable for reversing (right/left-rotation) of motors, fans, hydraulic systems, etc. Depending on the circuit, the LEDs can be used as backlight/night light or status signal. The LEDs are supplied in green. The connection is made via standard 6.3-mm connectors or with a terminal block (including 8 pieces of flat plug), available as an optional accessory .

Cut out dimension: 21.08 x 36.83 mm.

Note:

The button comes supplied without a rocker. Switch rockers from the CONTURA II and CONTURA V Series are optionally available.
The button with LED can be used variably, seeing as the LED doesn't have an internal connection to the switch's contacts. It can be controlled neutrally via connections: 8 (POS 12V) and 7 (NEG electrical system). This way, the LED can be used as either a control indicator or a dashboard light.
Important: The button functions in both 12V and 24V systems, however the LED is designed for 12V operation. In order to use the LED in a 24V system, an additional series resistor is required (approx. 600 Ohms/2 W).
A terminal block is separately available for the buttons with item numbers 20622, 20623 and 20624

Don’t skimp on tools

The switch rockers on my 1998 Bayliner had a rubber coating that somehow dissolved and turned into black gunk. The CONTURA II switch rockers fit perfectly on the original switches, which now look like new again.
And YES, you can do the work without the tools, but you always have the feeling that something is about to break. With the plastic lever, it's child's play. I overhauled 13 switches without breaking anything.
