CARLINGTECH Contura ON-OFF-ON switch, 1-pole, completely waterproof and dustproof, ideally suited for unrestricted outdoor and indoor use. Switches and push-buttons from the Contura series are used worldwide by leading shipyards and commercial vehicle manufacturers in series production. Switching capacity 12 V/20 A, 24 V/10 A. Available without illumination or with green or red LED .
The LED is neutral, i.e. it has no internal connection to the switching contacts. By connecting it accordingly, you can decide for yourself whether the LED is used as background/night lighting or to check the switching status.
Technical details
- Switching function: ON-OFF-ON switch, 1-pole
- Switching capacity: 12 V/20 A or 24 V/10 A
- LED (if available): 12 V /20 mA DC, an optional 600 Ohm / 2W resistor is required for 24 V
- Connections: 6.3 x 0.7 mm flat contacts, silver-plated brass
- Required installation cut-out: approx. 37 x 21 mm
- Suitable for panel thicknesses (with/without seal) up to 5 / 6.5 mm
- Installation depth: 45 mm plus plug and cables
You can find the contact assignment for the switch and the LED in the “Documents” section below.
Please open the 270 kB drawing there and check the last pages in the “Circuit Diagram” / “Lamp Circuit Diagram” lists for positions 6 and A/1.
Note
- The switches are delivered without rocker caps. Rocker caps are available optionally in two variants:
- CONTURA II (rectangular shape, surface with small bumps)
- CONTURA V (rounded shape with smooth surface)
- The switches can be mounted directly into the switch panel or using a mounting frame (optional accessory).
- A suitable tool is available (also optional) for removing the rocker caps or the switches from the mounting frame.
- The LED in the switch (if present) can be used flexibly, as it has no internal connection to the switch contacts and can be powered independently via terminals 8 (PLUS 12 V) and 7 (MINUS onboard network). This allows the LED to function either as a control indicator or as instrument panel lighting.
- Important: Switches with LEDs can control 12 V or 24 V circuits, but the LED itself is designed for 12 V DC. To operate the LED in a 24 V onboard network, an additional series resistor is required (approx. 600 Ω / 2 W, available from electronics suppliers).
- For switches with article numbers 20620 and 20621, a matching terminal block (20630) is optionally available. This terminal block cannot be used with other switches or push buttons.
