DOMETIC Smartstart III

The Smartstart III from Dometic minimises the sudden high starting current peaks that can occur when the air conditioning unit is activated and thus ensures a stable 230 V on-board alternating voltage. With Smartstart III, the air-conditioning system can still start up without any problems even if it is connected to a weakly fused AC network (e.g. at the jetty).
The Smartstart III reduces starting currents by up to 65 % and is suitable for air conditioning systems with 12 - 30 kBTU/h. A small red LED indicates operation and signals malfunctions by flashing differently. Operating voltage: 230 V 50/60 Hz, max. full load. 16 A.

LED power indicator

• Fast flashing (10x / second) => Undervoltage
• 3 flashes every 3 seconds (3x / 3 sec.) => switch-off after three air conditioning system false starts
• Slow flashing (1x / 3 sec.) => switch-off due to overcurrent
• Slow continuous flashing (1x / sec.) => delay / error mode

Notes
After disconnecting the 230 V AC voltage, wait two minutes for the condenser to discharge before working on the connection lines to the air conditioner.
