Product details
BLACK BOTTOM is a flexible, high-quality marine paint for below the waterline. The paint can also be used for the repair or maintenance of existing tar colours. Can also be used above the water line. BLACK BOTTOM can be easily processed, is elastic and resistant to UV-rays, water and air. Dust-dry after 2 hours and fully dry after 12 hours. Several layers can be applied (each at 20°C). Coverage: 10 m² per liter at 50 µm dry film thickness. The effective coverage can vary depending on many factors, such as application methods, surface conditions, absorbency of the wood, conditions while processing, material loss, etc. Base: bitumen. Colour: black. Gloss: semi-gloss. Density: 0.97 kg/dm ³. Available in 1 liter and 4 liter containers.
Processing instructions
Remove growth from the substrate and carefully degrease. Sand the surface thoroughly, clean well and allow to dry. Remove rust and dust before application. Then apply 3-5 coats of Black Bottom.
Above the waterline: 3 coats of Black Bottom
Below the waterline: 5 coats of Black Bottom
Application on steel / Old coatings:
Dilute the first coat 25 % with a paint thinner. Dilute further coats by 0-10 % and apply.
Drying time at 20 °C: 2 hours
Processing time at 20 °C: min. 12 hours
Processing temperature: +10 °C to max. 28° C
