After removing the old rubber (simply pull it out), the seal was very easy to slide into the groove. The hatch could then be closed much more tightly and is absolutely tight.

The sealing rubber corresponds exactly to the original material. It has to be pushed pretty hard into the hatch - can be a little fiddling. The original seal is glued together at both ends - the replacement material is supplied as a strand (not glued). Gluing is recommended so that the hatch is sealed at all points.
