Product details

The Honda BF 15 is a high performance engine with a speed-optimized microprocessor-controlled ignition system. This improves acceleration and fuel consumption. The electronic monitoring system for speed, oil pressure and coolant temperature offers even more reliability.
The HONDA BF 15 meets the requirements of Lake Constance level 1.

Smooth, clean and quiet

With 15 HP, these mobile outboard motors are perfect for all boats that need power in pocket size thanks to their retractable handles.

Easy start

Both engines have a decompression system for easy starting. This makes the engine much easier to turn over with that initial pull if you have the manual recoil type, and less of a drain on your battery if you have an electric starter.

Very quiet

The BF15 engines are so quiet giving increased performance - without getting louder! When these 4T engines are started, you'll notice immediately how quiet they are. The unique rubber mount absorbs vibrations, making the engine even quieter.
They're compact
Honda's BF15 engines are very reliable, fuel efficient and clean. The lightweight 4-stroke 350 cm³ engines are easy to start as they have a decompression system and programmed ignition (PGM-IG). This ignition system ensures the right fuel-air mixture in the twin cylinders, so these Honda engines are ready to go even in a cold start.
The outboard engines are extremely robust and feature a powerful charging coil to support most on-board components - even at low revs and slow speeds.



Easy astern

In forward motion (A) the propeller will drive normally through water, but in reverse it's a different story – unless you have a Honda. On other outboards, the propeller will turn in exhaust bubbles and wont ‘hook up’ with the water. Our unique reverse exhaust relief system directs the exhaust bubbles away from the propeller (B), so that it can 'grip' the water – instead of air. The result is instant reverse response with much finer control.

Easy manual tilt
The light engine is easy to tilt up in 5 stages. Lifting the manual (A) and the electric version (B) up or down, enables you to manually trim the boat to give you maximum performance and fuel efficiency. It also stops you from damaging the propeller blades when you find yourself near rocks or the water’s edge.



Easy on your wrist
Both engines have a Forward Mount Shift Lever for fingertip gear changing. It's so much easier to operate and better located than on other outboards, whether you're left or right-handed. Together with a soft-grip throttle handle and a twist-lock, it’s effortless. You can just roll on and off the power all day long (B), or lock it off (A) – just like cruise control.

A little difficult to start due to the compression. My wife doesn't know how to do it. Too resistant launch. I know Honda engines which are easier, but they are not 2 cylinders. The starter is an option that will most certainly be added.
