Good color I used the paint for priming my rudder blade above the waterline, it is very easy to work with. Sticks to the galvanized steel as it should, the Toplac Plus paint sticks well to One UP.

NOTIFICATION:

ONE UP replaces PRE KOTE and YACHT PRIMER whilst still delivering the same levels of adhesion and protection.

ONE UP is a one-component primer and undercoat - two products in one. Easy to apply by brush and roller, ONE UP provides and extra smooth finish. As a primer, it delivers impressive adhesion and protection. Can be painted over with any 1-component paint. Suitable for substrates made of wood, steel, aluminium, zinc and GRP. Yield: 10 m²/litre. Suitable thinner: No. 1. For easier application, can be thinned up to 10 % as desired.

Processing instructions

In good condition: Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 220­280 grade (grit) paper.
In poor condition: Remove all previous coatings.
Bare wood: Sand smooth with 80­180 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. Allow to dry completely before applying further products.

Steel: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½ ­ near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 24­36 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright well roughened metal surface 50­75­microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
Aluminium: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 24­120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.
Zink: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 60­120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.
GRP: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 180­220 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.

Application:

Steel and aluminium: Apply 3 coats of the primer (unthinned).
GRP: Apply 2 coats (unthinned(.
Wood: Apply 4 coats (unthinned).

Drying time at 15° C: 3 hrs
Overcoating time at 15° C: at least 18 hours
Processing temperature: +5 °C to max. 35° C

Extremely questionable substance
When you open the can you find a thickened liquid on a gelatinous mass. The flow properties are rather poor from the start. During longer processing over several hours, One Up unfortunately dries faster than you can work with it. Commercially available products for thinning and cleaning do not work. The manufacturer does not specify whether it is a water, oil or nitro-based product. Sustainable looks different!!!
