Product details
TOPLAC PLUS one component premium boat paint is suitable for all boat materials above the waterline, and has improved aesthetics and flow in comparison with other conventional paints and excellent flow properties. Featuring a new formula, TOPLAC PLUS eliminates the need for tipping when using a roller. The high-gloss varnish also has excellent gloss retention qualities without yellowing. TOPLAC PLUS can be applied using a brush or roller and has improved flow and levelling. Suitable for a range of surfaces including aluminium, iron, carbon fibre, GRP, steel, lead, wood and stainless steel. Yield: 13.33 m²/litre. Suitable thinner: No.100.
Dilute 0-10% for easier processing. Above 25° C, add an additional 5% thinner.

For coated surfaces:
- In good condition: Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Then sand the surface.
- In poor condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the surface.
Technical data
- Processing temperature: +5 °C to max. 35 °C
- Drying time at 15 °C: 3 hours
- Processing time at 15 °C: min. 16 hours
GRP
Degrease with thinner No.100 or Super Cleaner. Thoroughly sand with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Clean well and allow to dry. Prime the surface with a suitable primer, such as One Up. Then apply 2-3 coats of Toplac Plus.
Weathered gelcoat
Due to increased porousness, the risk of solvent/moisture entrapment is increased, leading to potential blistering. To counter this risk, 3 coats of Interprotect must be applied to seal. When using Interprotect, Perfection undercoat must be applied before using the topcoat.
Wood / Plywood
Sand smooth with 80180 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. Allow to dry completely before applying further products. Prime the surface with a suitable primer, such as One Up. Then apply 2-3 coats of Toplac Plus.
Steel
Degrease with thinner No.100 or Super Cleaner. Gritblast to near white metal surface (Sa 2½). If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 36-40 abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright well roughened metal surface (5075microns) anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime the surface with a suitable primer, such as One Up. Then apply 2-3 coats of Toplac Plus.
Aluminium
Degrease with thinner No.100 or Super Cleaner. Thoroughly sand with 60-120 grit sandpaper (suitable for aluminum). Clean well and allow to dry. Prime as soon as possible (within 8 hours) with One UP. Then apply 2-3 coats of Toplac Plus.
