JABSCO Aqua Filta

Do not buy this unless you enjoy having your entire water tank dumped in the bilge!

The filter element cracks in the middle for no reason! The connectors are very flimsy as well.

I bought two complete filters, one lasted 8 months the other one 5 months! After that crack in the middle of the element on both for no reason and all the water tank contents was dumped in the bilge both times.

Not safe!

In the instructions, sawing should be done down to the screw cap. However, since the plastic is very soft, the thread is quickly damaged by the stainless steel nuts. After several hours of unsuccessful attempts to get the screw connection reliably tight, I disposed of the product. The risk of water damage was too high for me.

We bought a lovely old boat with this system on board and bought 4 filters at a price of 30 each to go cruising from Scotland to the med. We use a lot of water living aboard and having 3 young children. We changed the filter straight away, then after about 2 months it kept popping off despite the year jabsco say it should last. First filter would not stay on, only a fresh filter would. This lasted about 8 months, so fair credit. But this started to pop off too, forcing a fresh and last filter. When we turned on the pressure it ran for a while then the actual housing broke. Very unhappy with Jabsco, have ordered new housing and filters from another company.
