JOCKEL powder extinguishers can be used to extinguish class: A, B and C fires. The extinguishing power behind JOCKEL standard powder is based on its anticatalytic effects against class A, B and C fires. This means that the extinguisher's powder causes a chain termination reaction which destroys the combustion process. In class A fires, the fire-extinguishing powder also exerts a barrier effect on the fire, by forming "suffocating sintered layers." This prevents both the diffusion of oxygen into the fire and the heating of the immediate surroundings, thus preventing re-ignition.
