Product details

This compact-class anchor windlass has been specially developed for smaller yachts up to approximately 10 m in length and 4 t displacement. The DORADO is ideal for deck mounting and can also be installed in small forepeaks. Its extremely compact design and exceptionally smooth operation make it a standout in its class. The housing is manufactured from seawater-resistant aluminium alloy. The DORADO is equipped with a combination rope/chain gypsy for use with both anchor chain and anchor rope. In addition, the electric anchor windlass features a pressure arm, allowing it to be used as a combined rope/chain windlass for mixed anchor rodes.

Corrosion-resistant housing
The corrosion-resistant housing is made from high-quality anodised marine-grade aluminium and offers excellent resistance to saltwater and the harsh conditions encountered on board, ensuring a long service life even under demanding conditions. On the horizontal model, the seawater-resistant aluminium housing is mounted above deck, while the motor is installed below deck. This design also makes the windlass suitable for boats with smaller foredecks.

Electric operation
The DORADO anchor windlass is powered by a high-performance 800 W motor combined with a precisely matched gearbox. A relay box is included for straightforward control of the windlass. The powerful motor delivers high pulling force, allowing the anchor to be recovered quickly and safely, even in demanding conditions. For convenient electric operation, a range of optional remote controls and foot switches is available.

Manual chain release
The electric anchor windlass is equipped with a manual chain release, allowing the anchor chain to be paid out quickly and under control.

Lofran say that this windlass (Dorado) is available with an optional free fall. I can't see this as an add on on the website. Is it something that you are able to supply?

Hello, I'm interested about Lofrans Dorado horizontal windlass. I have a wooden boat 8.3 m of length, 2.4 m of width, 3 t of weight and I'm planning to use 7.5 kg anchor (I think it is compatible). No way can I choose which windlass model to choose from by combining anchor rope with chain. Could you please recommend combined anchor rope with chain and compatible Lofrans Dorado windlass model for my boat. Sorry for the my poor english Best Regards, Alvydas
