Navionics + Update Charts

Gladly again

I had an old nautical chart from 2015. According to the person at the counter, it could be updated with an update card. I pointed out that the SVB website states the old chart must not be older than 5 years. The response was that it didn't matter, they'd never encountered this before, it would still work, and if not, I should call.

I installed the chart installer (very easy, works great), but the result was that the chart was too old and couldn't be updated! The update card wasn't exchangeable, so I bought a new nautical chart. The update with the update card is scheduled for 2026; we'll see, since it was already activated in 2025.

The Navionics chart is great; the in-store advice could be improved; the telephone advice was excellent.
