NICO SIGNAL NICO - Flare Gun

This NICO flare gun, made of reinforced plastic and with a 6-shot magazine, is a must for every sailor. But also with other activities, such as wind & kite surfing, boating, jet skiing & canoeing, diving, mountaineering, mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, skydiving, the flare gun is an indispensable personal distress signal.

Flares can be fired off quickly, as the gun does not require reloading between shots - perfect for emergencies at sea where quick rescue is needed. Signals reach an altitude of 80 metres and are visible up to a distance of approx. 10 km (weather conditions permitting). The inner components, such as firing pin, screws and springs are made of rustproof stainless steel. The NICO flare gun is seawater resistant, maintenance-free and requires no batteries. It features a wrist strap for practical and safe use.

Legal note

The use of the Nico Signal requires an official licence (‘small firearms licence’ according to § 10 (4) line 4 in conjunction with Annex 2 Section 2 Subsection 3 No. 2 and 2.1 WaffG).

A licence to use the Nico flare gun is not required for anyone who uses it when climbing mountains, as the responsible driver of a watercraft on this vessel or during emergency and rescue exercises. Furthermore, anyone who uses the Nico flare to signal the start or end of sporting events when optical or acoustic signalling is required is exempt from the permit requirement.
