Wir hängen ein solches Ölsaugtuch immer senkrecht in die Bilge. Wenn dann mal ein Tropfen Öl oder Diesel in der Bilge landet, wird er von dem Tuch direkt "abgesammelt" und hält so die Bilge schön sauber. Das funktioniert sogar, wenn mal Wasser in die Bilge kommt, da das Tuch kein Wasser aufnimmt, sondern das Wasser schön suber hält.

Clean thing
I've been using these cloths for 20 years and have always had a clean bilge under the engine where the cloths are placed.

After an oil change or other painters, I simply replace the cloth, the absorbency is enormous and the engine compartment stays clean.
