Very useful tool for oil changes but also for water in the ship Over time I have had many opportunities to pump liquids out of the boat, out of tanks and out of the engine. A good vacuum quickly forms in the container (5 to 10 strokes), so that the pump then continues to suck on its own. The thin attachment is needed for the engine or if you want to reach deep places. After 5 years of use, a kink formed at the beginning of the thick hose section, which then also became leaky. The hose can apparently also be ordered as a spare part. Over time, the pump has developed a slight rust on the metal parts. It is therefore advisable to grease the metal parts.

Much better than electric pumps After my electric pump gave up the ghost after just a few oil changes, I discovered this pump. It's simply fantastic! It eliminates the annoying connection to the battery, works independently of the power supply, and won't break if you pump in the "wrong" fluid. That's how it should be – really good!

Only pumps out about 2.2L

My engine holds 2.7L of oil - so it could have been the perfect size.
Unfortunately, there is no information (from the manufacturer) about the maximum suction quantity.
A nice employee at SVB recommended that I try it with water first - good tip, because only about 2.2L is sucked out.
Then the float is pushed and seals, which is also a good thing in principle.
So for the next one, here is the net filling quantity 2.2L )

Practical

Practical, solid vacuum pump, used for suctioning engine oil. Even works with cold oil (plus 5 degrees). The filling level can be easily controlled thanks to the semi-transparent plastic.
However, sometimes a valve in the pump seems to stick, so that no vacuum is drawn when re-pumping. But it can apparently be remedied by pressing a vent valve on the top several times. Hoses are not very flexible, but they have to be because of vacuum resistance.
In any case, a practical, purely mechanical pump that can be used to work cleanly anywhere. Recommended!
