600-GDL Gas Detector

The BEPMARINE 600-GDL gas detector uses a microprocessor control to ensure correct sensor sensitivity for LPG, CNG and gasoline vapors. These gas detectors do not have an on/off switch. This ensures maximum safety at all times while you are on your boat or vehicle.

The 600-GDL can be connected to a second gas sensor to monitor areas such as gas lockers, cylinder storage compartments, bilge or the area under the cooker. Each monitoring circuit has a separate 3-colour LED that indicates the system status: Green for normal operation, yellow for system faults and red in the event of an alarm. The system can be checked using a "TEST" button.

Functions:

Explosive gas mixtures vary in density: some are heavier than air and settle on the ground, while others are lighter and rise to the ceiling. This must be taken into account when installing gas sensors. Use of a second gas sensor enables all potentially hazardous areas to be covered, which increases safety. Liquid gas and petrol vapours, which are heavier than air, require the sensor to be mounted close to the ground. For CNG, which is lighter than air, mount the sensor just below ceiling height but not above cooking or heating appliances.

The device has a "pulse and hold" feature which allows the solinoid valve to to be opened, using full power (12 V), and then reducing power (approx. 5 V) to hold the valve in the open position. This reduces power consumption and heat generated whilst the valve is in the on position. A "GAS" button enables manual control of the solenoid valve, with an LED indicating the switching status.

The internal acoustic alarm (piezo buzzer) and additional connections for external alarms or fans complete the safety features.

Important: The 600-GDL is only designed for an operating voltage of 10-15 volts. A DC/DC converter is required for a 24 V electrical system.

Signals:

Optical (LED) and acoustic (piezo) signals for sensor 1 and 2:
- GREEN LED : no explosive gas mixture, no acoustic signal
- YELLOW LED: Sensor error, slow signal tone
- RED LED: Alarm, gas present, rapid alarm sound

Audible alarm sounds:

- Medium slow, warming up, all LEDs flash amber
- Fast: Alarm, LED lights red
- Slow: Fault, LED lights amber
