About the artist Jeannine Rafoth
The artist, Jeannine Rafoth, was born on the island of Rügen and grew up in the Baltic seaside resort of Kühlungsborn, she has been painting and drawing since childhood.

Her rediscovered passion for sailing ultimately brought her back to painting. With commissioned works for the Warnemünde Woche or regatta prizes, her pictures have gained a wide audience. In her studio, she mainly creates large-format paintings in acrylic and watercolours on old sails, a material that gives the picture a very special look and feel, which emphasises the dynamics and energy of the sail.
