The LOFRANS X2 windlass impresses with its combination of high performance and a compact, robust design, making it an excellent choice for boat owners looking for a durable and reliable anchoring solution. For boats up to approx. 13.5 metres. The vertical design of the X2 windlass ensures that the chain runs particularly smoothly directly into the chain locker, thereby enabling efficient power transmission even in difficult anchoring conditions.

High-quality construction
The X2 features a durable housing made of seawater-resistant aluminium. The motor, located below deck, has an IP67 rating. The aluminium gearbox is perfectly matched to the engine’s power output to ensure optimum power transmission. A waterproof stainless-steel ball bearing integrated into the base ensures smooth running and a long service life. In addition, the vertical winch is already fitted with a sensor switch contact for an optional chain counter. Thanks to its spring-loaded guide arm, the windlass can handle rope-and-chain combinations with ease.

Independent operation of gypsy and capstan
The X2 windlass is fitted with a hauling capstan, which enables the windlass to carry out additional line-handling tasks. It enables controlled handling of mooring and hauling lines and can assist with harbour manoeuvres. To ensure maximum flexibility on board, the gypsy and the hauling capstan can be operated independently.

Electric operation
The X2 anchor windlass is powered by a high-performance 800 W motor combined with a precisely matched gearbox. A relay box is included for straightforward control of the windlass. The powerful motor delivers high pulling force, allowing the anchor to be recovered quickly and safely, even in demanding conditions. For convenient electric operation, a range of optional remote controls and foot switches is available.

Manual chain release
The electric anchor windlass is equipped with a manual chain release, allowing the anchor chain to be paid out quickly and under control.

Lofrans X2 with drum
I needed to replace my anchor windlass. I specked the correct winch, especially the gypsy for my UK 10mm chain. You sent to me an anchor winch with the incorrect gypsy. You replaced the gypsy, but it took a long time and I had to pay the import duty on the replacement gypsy. I believe you should reimburse me the cost of what I paid the South African customs. I also suggest you include both ISO & DIN gypsies when its for 10mm chain, as there was no indication on the packing box referencing which gypsy it was before opening the box. I have fitted the Lofrans X2 and now I have a working anchor windlass.
Please pass my sincere thanks to Stanley whos without his help, the problem; your problem, would not have been resolved.

Great purchase, perfect replacement!
After over 30 years of service, my old Lofrans Airon winch gave up, so I decided to replace it with the X2 model with bell, purchased from SVB.
Installation was easy because it fit perfectly into the existing holes. The winch is powerful, quiet, and pulls the chain without any hesitation.

It's a bit quieter than the old anchor winch. It's a bit slower in retrieval speed, but still good. It fits perfectly into the old holes. It's nice that you can loosen the top and let the chain out. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible before; it was probably too old and jammed.
