VHF handheld radio that is both waterproof and floatable and features outstanding performance in transmission and reception. This version is designed for Europe and also meets the requirements for use in the USA and Canada.
With an output power of 5W and frequencies from 156 to 163.425MHz, it delivers autonomy of up to 12 hours assuming 5% transmit time, 5% receive time and 90% standby time. The 1750mA Li-ion battery is built in. It has functions such as dual and triple watch and a weather function (for the US only).
Other features include an automatic water drain function, instant access to channel 16 and the ability to program a preferred channel. An ATIS mode is also available for use on inland waters. The device can be charged via USB (with 12 V and 220 V adapters).
It is operated via a large backlit LCD display and user-friendly backlit buttons. Handheld microphone/speaker is available separately. The device is designed for temperatures from -15° to +55 °C.
It includes a floating and flashing function as well as an audible alarm and a flashlight when submerged. The water drain function helps drain water from the speaker and turns on automatically when the radio is taken out of the water.
