The Sleipner Side-Power Q-Prop conversion kit for SP75/SP95 allows boat owners to upgrade their existing bow thruster from a 4-blade to a 5-blade propeller system. This conversion leads to a significant reduction in noise levels and an increase in thrust, which considerably improves manoeuvrability and convenience.

Technical features of the Q-Prop conversion kit
The Q-Prop conversion kit includes a specially developed 5-blade skew propeller with a diameter of 185 mm, made from tough, seawater-resistant composite material. This material ensures durability and corrosion resistance, even under demanding maritime conditions. The propeller is compatible with the Side-Power bow thruster models SP75 and SP95 from model year 1999 onwards, which have a 4-blade propeller configuration with lock nut. Models with grub screw fastening cannot be upgraded.
In addition to the 5-blade propeller, the conversion kit also includes an adapter, an anode, a nut and a washer, which makes installation quick and easy.

Advantages of converting to Q-Prop
Switching to the 5-blade Q-propeller brings several decisive advantages. A noise reduction of up to 75 % has been measured in controlled environments, while a reduction of 20 to 40 % is achieved in average installations. In addition, the optimised propeller geometry leads to an increase in thrust of around 5%, which increases the efficiency of the bow thruster and makes mooring and casting off easier, especially in narrow harbours or in difficult weather conditions.

Installation and compatibility
Installing the Q-Prop conversion kit is easy for boat owners with sufficient technical knowledge. However, it is recommended to have the installation carried out by a specialist to ensure optimum performance and safety. The conversion kit is specially designed for the SP75 and SP95 Side-Power models and fits seamlessly into the existing system, meaning that no additional modifications to the boat are required.
