Leash eye does not fit through the hole

I need the center cleat for mooring or locking.

For this, I would run a spliced line eye through the center hole of the cleat and secure it over the horns. This way, nothing will accidentally slip off.

That's not possible with this cleat. The release mechanism gets in the way.

Simply throwing the line eye over the cleat is far too unsafe.

You have to make a bowline knot so tight every time to ensure the line stays secure.
