I always had to deal with moisture in my boat, probably know many boat owners. All possible experiments with dehumidifiers of various types were only moderately successful. Above all, constant monitoring of the water tank was required so that they did not overflow. Not anymore. Two Dorade fans on the deck have solved all the problems. The automatic closure really works great. If you put the rotating air intakes even more so that one is in windward and one in lee position, there is a slight air circulation in the boat. Really highly recommended!

As the fans are actually absolutely leak-proof (have tried a bucket of water directly into the opening and on the way, when water is flying over the deck), they always remain open. The result: Always dry and fresh in the boat. Beds and upholstery at home! \ R \ nHowever, you need counter ventilation, so install two per cabin or set up doors. And set the Hutzen in reverse. \ R \ nFor the toilet, so I have now installed a second.

These Dorade fans have been patented twice. Good ventilation of your boat is extremely important - not just for your comfort. Protect your interior (pillows, stoves, life jackets, etc.) against moisture and mildew. The COOL N DRY Dorade fan is the answer: its unique system allows ventilation of the boat even in bad weather. The fan always stays open, during sailing, as well as when berthed and while in winter storage. Its automatic closing mechanism prevents any ingress of water during heavy rainfall and surging waves. The automatic safety mechanism can also be activated manually. Made of UV-stabilized ABS and soft PVC. Delivery includes a water tank. The installation diameter is 90 mm and the outer diameter is 200 mm. For deck thickness up to max. 120 mm.

Can you easily install a mosquito net to these dorade boxes?

Hi Sami, I installed these boxes on the Spring time. I have any experience of any insects coming trough the boxes. But I have not thought to install a net, it is not too easy to install. The system controlling the valve needs a free access and I don't see an easy way to put the net between the valve plate and the opening tool. There is a ring to finalizing the install inside the cabin and I don't catch how to put a net nicely between the valve pipe and the ring. But again, I have not experienced any insect coming in.
