Magnesium anodes, also called "sacrificial anodes" protect all metal parts under the waterline (boat hull) from corrosion. In order to protect the hull, an inferior metal that is easier to oxidise is attached to the metal that should be protected.

These round-shaped magnesium anodes are suitable for rudder blades and trim tabs. Available in different sizes. Single anode. 2 pieces are needed for use on rudder blades or trim tabs.

aluminum plate anodes

The anodes are thick and heavy, so I hope they last a long time.
I wanted to switch to aluminum because it is supposed to be suitable for both freshwater and saltwater. But I won't be able to see the results until the end of next season.
I think it's great that these anodes come in pairs, which ultimately makes them affordable.
