Stuffy Box with hose connection - Further development of the popular rubber Stuffy Box

On the vulcanized hose connection (3/8"), a tube is inserted and fixed with a clamp. The tube is passed over the water line and simply left open to the top. Existing air in shaft seal can easily escape and thus a permanent cooling / lubrication of the shaft seal is ensured. Via the second connection (comes as a standard with a dummy screw), optionally parts of the cooling water can be injected into the shaft seal. This is recommended for operation in tidal waters and "silt ports". The additional water provides additional rinsing and a significant increase in service time can thus be achieved.

In addition, the bushing should be lubricated with the special grease at least once a year. To do this, remove the blind screw connection, lubricate the bushing and then close it again.

For lubrication, stuffy grease must also be purchased!

Note: We recommend LOCTITE thread sealing for sealing the tube tulle. The blind stopper for regreasing the gland should be equipped with a washer/o-ring (not included).

Proven for years

The old stuffing box was replaced because the shaft was being replaced. It itself showed no signs of wear. There were no signs of wear on the shaft. Bleeding was child's play and applying lubricant through the existing openings was completely problem-free. So it was only natural to choose the same product again. I didn't use the hose adapter, however, but covered the opening. It is only opened briefly when bleeding.

TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!

For years I had repeatedly had very unpleasant problems with my original stuffing box for my green diesel running dry (my sailboat has a very long and flat stern tube). I really tried everything including infrared temperature monitoring with alarm for security reasons!

With EVOLUTION, that's all history. Even after 8 hours of running engines and full throttle engines, I never had more than 39 C at the rubber stuffing box - PERFECT.

However, I installed a fresh water supply via a T-piece in the ventilation hose as additional security.

After 200 engine hours, I finally have a 100% tight stuffing box again (not a single drop to date!!!) and, above all, a stuffing box that doesn't overheat or run dry!

I can only warmly recommend the product - absolutely trustworthy quality!!!
