Unfilled, solvent-free epoxy resin for a versatile range of applications. The resin is suitable for lamination, gluing, filling or coating. It has excellent adhesion to many materials (GRP, wood, metal, polystyrene, concrete, etc.) and has very good properties when processing glass mat and fabric. If necessary, the resin can be used with suitable fillers as an adhesive or putty. After curing, both components form a high-strength, water-resistant bond or coating.
Processing Instructions: SEATEC epoxy resin is mixed in a ratio of 100:60 (by weight) or 100:70 (by volume). At the ideal processing temperature (20°C), the product has a pot life of approximately 30 minutes and reaches its final strength after three to five days. At temperatures below 10°C, both the pot life and curing time are extended, while the working time will shorten with larger mixtures due to exothermic heat. A curing treatment at 50°C for 24 hours increases strength and chemical resistance.
Mix the components accordingly and apply to the prepared substrate with a brush or roller. Sandblasted metals can be coated directly, while porous materials like wood or concrete should have a suitable primer applied.
Apply two coats to achieve a thickness of 300 - 400 µm. Second coat should be applied within 24 hours of the first. The epoxy resin is not non-yellowing under UV exposure. Therefore, a UV-resistant two-component paint should be applied as the final layer.
