Product details

This Side Power / Sleipner SE40S bow thruster set has been specially developed to simplify the manoeuvrability of yachts in maritime water sports. It is designed to make manoeuvring easier in narrow harbours in challenging conditions such as strong winds or currents. With a thrust of 40 kg at 10.5 V and up to 40 kg at 12 V, this bow thruster is suitable for boats with a length of 8 to 10.5 metres.

The compact design of the SE40S allows it to be installed in a tunnel with an internal diameter of just 125 mm, making it ideal for smaller boats. The 2.5 kW electric motor operates at a voltage of 12 V and ensures efficient performance with low energy consumption. Totalling 10 kg in weight, the system has little impact on the balance and performance of the boat.

An outstanding feature of the SE40S is the Intelligent Power Control (IPC) system, which increases reliability and safety by permanently monitoring the relay function and switching it off automatically in the event of malfunctions. The bow thruster also has a sealed gearbox with a durable mechanical seal, in which polished ceramic and carbon surfaces form the only moving sealing surfaces. This design ensures maximum reliability and durability.

The single propeller design of the SE40S ensures high efficiency and its compact shape allows easy integration into narrow boat bow areas. The 5-blade propeller with asymmetrical profile reduces the noise level during operation and enables a thrust gain of around 5 %.

For boat owners who value precise and safe manoeuvring, the SE40S Side Power / Sleipner bow thruster set is an excellent solution for optimising the control and handling of their boat in a wide range of maritime situations.

Affordable and powerful bow thruster

The product works perfectly and thanks to the good installation and operating instructions, even experienced laymen can install it. We are excited to see how it performs in the narrow Danish harbors when on vacation. Our 10.30m long boat can get into every little corner of a harbor thanks to its draft of just 1.30m and it is easier with the turning aid.

The BS is very well made, the instructions are good.
We were amazed at the good effect; previously a 3 kw BA was installed in a 160 tunnel. The new one has at least the same effect at 2.4 kW in the 140 tunnel.
