I have a Volvo Penta QL bow thruster and I need to replace the control panel. The original parts are not being produced any longer. Can I use this product instead?

Hello, I purchased this part to replace my bow truster panel, But this replacement item has a rectangular plug and my previous panel and boat plug has a circular plug. So they don't match. I was told that I should't replace the plug and that I bought the wrong item as there should be a panel with a circular plug. Is this true? Can the plug be replaced ? Thanks in advance. Vitor Dias
