Product details

The SX series external stern thrusters from SIDE-POWER are perfect for boats with twin stern drives. These stern thrusters come pre-assembled in a watertight housing and feature fully sealed cable connection points. Only a small hole in the boat's transom is required for power and control cables. Fully ignition protected for use in boats with petrol engines - no fumes can enter through the sealed connection points. SX stern thrusters can also be fitted with a proportional speed control.

Q-PROP
In controlled tests, Q-PROP™ reduces noise levels by up to 75%. The specially shaped, five-bladed ‘skew’ propeller significantly reduces noise levels while delivering exceptional efficiency.
Increased thrust was even measured in some drive models.
In typical installations, the expected noise reduction is between 20% and 40%.
Upgrade kits with special adapters are available for most Sleipner drive models.

INTELLIGENT POWER CONTROL
Sleipner's patented Intelligent Power Control minimises delays when changing the direction of the drive, thereby reducing wear on mechanical components.
At the same time, the functions of the solenoid valves are monitored.
In the event of a short circuit, the system automatically stops the drive – without any additional intervention by the user or switching off the main switch.

IGNITION PROTECTION
All ignition-protected products comply with ISO 8846 and ensure safe operation in areas where petrol vapours or other flammable gases may be present.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION
If there is a risk of overheating, the drive is automatically switched off to prevent damage.
On PRO™ drives with speed control, thrust is automatically reduced so that operation can continue within safe temperature limits.

ANALOGUE
The colour-coded Sleipner analogue signal cables with plug-and-play connectors are precisely matched to the wiring diagrams. High-quality plug connections ensure reliable and error-free installation.

GALVANIC SEPARATION
All components in contact with water are galvanically separated from the vehicle's electrical system.
This prevents stray currents and reliably avoids corrosion damage.

SEALED DRIVE LUBRICATION
The drive is filled at the factory and permanently lubricated.
A robust mechanical seal with ceramic and carbon surfaces provides maximum protection against water ingress and ensures a long service life.

SINGLE PROPELLER
A carefully designed single-propeller system offers the highest energy efficiency among propulsion solutions.
Thanks to its compact design, it is ideal for narrow bow sections and smaller drive models.
With over 60,000 single-propeller drives installed, this system has impressively proven its reliability and performance.

Assembly with difficulty
The initial situation was a 12m boat with a bathing platform, the inside of the bathing platform was very damp and wet due to condensation.
I bought this stern thruster because you can mount it directly in the water and it doesn't make sense for me to mount a normal stern thruster due to the high humidity in the bathing platform. The main problem is that the mounting plate and the housing of the motor are not parallel to each other. Despite the 10mm intermediate plate, I had the problem that the upper end of the motor housing touched the outer wall of the boat.
If I had known this beforehand then the 50mm spacer plate would have been much better. Then I would have had to use the other stern thruster with a maximum hull thickness of 150mm. I hope the info was helpful. Greetings to all water sports enthusiasts. Hannes U
