So far I have processed with the set DynaLite (core in core) and Harkon (core in sheath - sheath in core) in different diameters. The set has proven to be a really useful tool. Since the fids are not seamless tubes, there is a bump in the middle of the tube. At this point, depending on the material and braid of the rope individual threads can get caught. But in no way detracts from the utility value of the Fid-Set. All in all: a good tool!

The fid set is of excellent quality and the delivery was quick and problem free. The instructions are good but if this is your first effort at splicing - especially double braided rope - you might need a bit of extra help ie youtube

More expensive, but also better than a plastic Fid, which has much more friction and makes pushing through the Fids very difficult. This is the weapon of choice when splicing.
