Is super !!! I overtook my underwater hull (10m x 3m) and used one of two panes completely and a three pane is still usable. You need a few days, but everything goes down great from the torso. A colleague used it to derust a very rusty underwater hull and is also very satisfied. The expense is worth it.

Sagenhaftes Werkzeug! Die Arbeit ist zwar eine mächtige Sauerei, aber die Scheibe holt restlos alles runter (Chlorkautschukprimer und Antifouling von Stahl) und nimmt auch gelegentliches Verkanten nicht übel. In 1,5 Tagen ist ein 9 Meter Stahlverdränger fertig.

I have completely freed my 8m steel ship with the triple pane from the layers of paint and rust spots. It took me three days with rust protection. Unfortunately, I couldn't get by with a washer, because sharp edges can break pins quickly. You really get a clean, shiny surface like sandblasting. Small deeper spots (diameter 2-3mm) may have to be treated afterwards. But I can still use both discs. Against sandblasting, this procedure is not at all costly and can be mastered by anyone.

What is Tercoo®?

Tercoo® is a rotating disk, which can remove rust, paint, tar, epoxy, varnish, adhesive-coatings ect. from a variety of surface materials, such as: steel, iron, other metals, concrete and stone. The perfect result is a blasted surface with a corresponding roughness and purity, which can then be easily adapted to install new protective layers. With Tercoo®, one can get a proper surface, from which he can go on to apply new protective coatings on top of.

How does Tercoo® work?

Tercoo® is a natural rubber disc, equipped with 12 hard metal studs. The studs sit at a certain angle to the center middle and are pushed by centrifugal force outwards. The natural rubber discs are flexible and elastic and create an effect very similar to what a sandblaster is capable of. The hard metal pins scrape the surface clean of tar, adhesives and sealants and are therefore easy to remove. This is not the case with other tools of this nature, due to their operational tendancies, which create friction and heat. It does not matter which material is on the surface, Tercoo® always gets the job done.

The models:

There are three different models, all of which are suitable for a drill with a max RPM of 4,000:

Single: is suitable for smaller surfaces such as the removal of water bubbles in paint or minor rust spots, etc.

Double: is suitable for medium sized surfaces, such as keels or smaller decks.

Triple: is optimal for large surfaces, such as hulls or entire decks.

Driven by a drill with a recommended rotation of between 2500-3000 RPM, it generates shaking and swinging movements for a result close to what a sandblast would reach.

The discs are ideal for removing paint, primers, epoxy, rust, tar, etc., on metal surfaces, steel and concrete. Available as single, double or triple disc (works three times as fast). Working surface approx. 4 to 6 m²/h (single disc). Lifetime: approx. 90 - 120 m². Locking bolts: 8 mm, disc diameter: 126 mm. Disc width, single: approx. 7 mm, double: approx. 13 mm, triple: approx. 20 mm.

The Tercoo pane was used to remove the coating from parts of the UW area of a steel ship. She brought down all coating layers in a radical way (working in layers is not possible). In this respect, it was quick work in relation to the imperfections. Tercoo on cast iron keel - disappointment

Hello everyone, I was deceived by the Tercoo hype. Buyers, beware!

The advertising claims that Tercoo is suitable for ALL metals to remove ALL coatings and corrosion. It is also claimed (SVB catalog 2023, p.334 and online) that the 1-pane version can cover 4-6sqm per hour and the service life is 90-120sqm. The advertising claims the performance is as good as sandblasting - sandblasting without sand.

You should first divide these given numbers by ten to get to the actual numbers. I believe this is a misprint by SVB as the Tercoo manual claims the service life is a maximum of 10sqm.

The other claims are marketing nonsense!

I used the 2 disk version with my AC drill. I used them to remove antifouling, epoxy and corrosion from my cast iron keel (approximately 4sqm, daggerboard keel). I wanted to get the metal to a clean surface to recoat the keel with epoxy.

- It took at least three hours to clean just 1sqm. The work is VERY slow and tedious!

- After I cleaned about 2 square meters, the part was badly damaged and could no longer be used.

- Dust and dirt flew everywhere, even worse than an angle grinder! Using a drill often directs dirt directly into your face. You MUST wear full eye and face protection. Afterwards, my torso was covered with an oily layer of iron oxide.

- The surface has not been sandblasted in any way. That's just nonsense. It's good, but it can't be compared to sandblasting. My angle grinder with a few different attachments completed the rest of the area much quicker and to the same standard.

In the fine print of the manual (aha!), Tercoo says that you should not use this tool on heavily weathered surfaces as you will damage the tool. Additionally, you can only use the tool on flat surfaces; curved surfaces will also damage the tool.

Well, great - cast iron is a very rough surface from the casting process, and my keel has a convex flange and a torpedo-like bulb - so the tool wore out very quickly. They don't tell you that in the marketing materials!

In my opinion it is NOT a good tool for a cast iron keel!

Most likely, this tool is suitable for flat steel or concrete surfaces with only a thin coating.

Even for these surfaces, I think only the 3-disc version works fast enough to be worth the money. (This is a very expensive tool). And you will definitely need the "Triple Dust Extractor" accessory to remove the large amount of dust that is generated.

If you have cast iron keel, it's better to pay the professionals for sandblasting!

And if you insist on doing it yourself, use an angle grinder with the right attachments to save yourself a lot of time and hassle!
