TOPLAC 1-component premium high-gloss varnish provides improved UV protection and has improved aesthetics and flow in comparison with other conventional paints. Gloss conservation and non-yellowing quality is almost doubled. TOPLAC can be easily applied using a brush and has improved flow and levelling. Yield: 13.33 m²/litre. Thinner no.1. Different colours available.
Application instructions:
For coated surfaces
In good condition: Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 280Â320 grade (grit) paper.
In poor condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the surface.
All surfaces: Apply a primer and allow to dry. Abrade with 320-400 grade (grit) paper. Then apply 1-3 coats of Toplac.
Bare wood: Abrade with 80-180 grit sandpaper. Then with 280 grit paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. Allow to dry completely before applying primer.
Aluminium: : Degrease with solvent or
Super Cleaner. Sand well using 60Â120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime with
One UP as soon as possible (within 8 hours).
Steel: Degrease with solvent or
Super Cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½  near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 24Â36 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright well roughened metal surface (50Â75Âmicrons) anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
GRP: Degrease with solvent or
Super Cleaner. Sand well using 180Â220 grade paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. No primer required.
Old / weathered gelcoat: Degrease with thinner or
Super Cleaner. Thoroughly sand with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Clean well and allow to dry. To prevent blistering, apply 3 coats of
Interprotect. When using Interprotect, a primer must also be painted before using Toplac.
Drying time at 15 °C: 3 hours
Processing time at 15 °C: min. 16 hours
Processing temperature: +5 °C to max. 35 °C
