The Best for the Baltic Sea
I have been using VC17 m for years. Already in 1993 I bought a sailing yacht with VC17 m and was very satisfied except for green algae threads, which are sailed off. Years later a new ship with blue Hart Antifouling. Color peels off and a few smallpox at the end of the season. After 4 years switching to VC17m. The Bavaria 39 Cruiser was almost 1 kn faster. No smallpox, but again the green algae on the trunk after a long period of lying down. Since then, changing to the VC17m extra. Awesome no smallpox, no algae and still just as fast. Only the handle on the pot could be longer so that you can already wear it with the blue hat.

Copper color is on an fresh air, after coating. When boat is immersed, color getting graphite.

Copper colour stays before immersion. On water copper oxidizes and turn gray. That’s normal. It is a very good antifouling. I’ve been using it the last three years, works nicely on my J109.

Yes, I,m pretty shure that it works, I have used VC-17M on my last 4 sailingboats during a period of 35 years, also on other epoxies than VC-Tar. However, read the instructions on the epoxi carefully, sometimes there is a timelimit on how late you can apply the VC-17M without the need of grinding/sanding the surface.

I would absolutely not try Hempadur as an underwater primer as base for VC-17M. But you can without doubt use Hempels Light Primer. If your plan is to use VC-17M as antifouling why not use the recommended primer?
