Cowl kit for 150 mm stern thruster.
To achieve the optimum effect of a stern thruster, the propeller should be located sufficiently below the waterline. In some cases this is not possible, for example if the yacht has a shallow draft or there are obstructions on the stern. If the stern thruster is not sufficiently immersed in the water, the propeller will suck in a lot of air, which results in a considerable loss of efficiency. To successfully avoid this problem and to guarantee that both tunnel openings are deep enough below the waterline, VETUS has developed an extension kit for all stern thrusters with a tunnel diameter of Ø 150, 185, 250 or 300 mm.
