Product details

The VHF EXPLORER GX1700E is a very compact unit with a slim profile. The case design provides flexibility: with only 9 cm depth it is just half the depth of comparable VHF radios and can it be mounted with space-saving.
The GX1700E model features an integrated GPS receiver.

With an optional second control unit (CPM30), this VHF unit is a complete dual station with Intercom function, so that you can also "call" a set to another.
The large, high-contrast LCD display ensures easy reading of information, especially when you can not install the unit directly in front of you. With the ClearVoice microphone, disturbing background noises such as motors or wind are no problem. Thus, a very clear transmission is ensured.
The operation can be adjusted according to your needs thanks to the 3 programmable soft keys. Waypoints can be savec un the unit‘s memory, allowing you to navigate with the navigation page displayed. In addition, an automatic query of the GPS position is possible for up to 4 ships with DSC.

The DSC or ATIS function/menu is only available in the respective channel group. Please change to the corresponding channel group to use the respective functions.

Programming notes:

This device has to be programmed with your personal data, such as MMSI and/or ATIS numbers. You may carry out programming of MMSI and ATIS numbers yourself. Relevant instructions can be found in the manual.

As an alternative, we can carry out programming for a programming fee.

If additional channels (e.g. dutch channels 30, 31 and 37) are to be programmed, we also charge a programming fee.

Note on the DSC emergency call

The DSC emergency key does not work (on my device) until the channel group 'DSC \' has been selected. DSC, INTL and ATIS are available. A selection of USA, INTL and CAN is described in the manual (German and English), which is not applicable for my device (05/2015).

First test very positive. Menu guidance ok, MMSI and ATIS Programming only once possible, so do not type it out. Device makes a valuable impression. German user manual available at SVB as download.
