Functions Fine cracks have formed in various corners of our boat. If you wanted to repair these using conventional means, you would have to sand the cracks ("make them wide"), fill them with gelcoat, sand and polish them. Of course, this would then look great. With this "crack repair" you can fill cracks in a reasonably good-looking way with much less effort - the thin paint can be applied easily with the fine brush and it creeps well into the cracks (at least at the 30°C temperature we had).

Product details

Gelcoat Crack Repair from Yachtcare is ideal for sealing fine hairline cracks, tiny chips or holes above the waterline.

Use
Before starting the repair, clean the area to be treated thoroughly so that it is free of dirt, dust and grease. Shake the bottle vigorously for about 2 minutes to ensure that the paint is evenly mixed. Now open the cap and wipe the brush on the head of the bottle until the right amount of paint is on the brush tip. Apply the paint carefully and precisely to the damaged area. Alternatively, you can apply the paint by dabbing with the brush tip. Drying time is about 30 minutes at a temperature of 20°C. Make sure that the first coat is completely dry before applying second coat.
