Description
The YANMAR 2GM20F-YEU is a two-cylinder diesel engine from YANMAR’s GM series, manufactured as part of the European YEU (Yanmar European Union) series between 1996 and 2004. It delivers 18 PS at a maximum speed of 3600 revolutions per minute; at idle, it runs at 850 revolutions per minute. The valve clearance when cold is 0.20 millimetres on both sides; the oil capacity, including the filter, is 2 litres, and 15W40 engine oil is recommended. Within the same European YEU production series, it is joined by the three-cylinder 3GM30-YEU, which shares the same design and injection technology but differs in the number of cylinders and power output. Characteristic features of the YEU variant are its compact design, European build quality and simple, mechanical technology without electronics. These characteristics make the YANMAR 2GM20F-YEU a widely used main propulsion unit for small to medium-sized sailing boats.
