Dufour 28 Mezzo

Description

The Dufour 28 Mezzo from Dufour Yachts s.a. is a compact centre-cockpit cruiser with a sheltered steering position and balanced weight distribution, built between 1981 and 1988 and with a length of 8.50 m and a beam of 3.15 m offering a wide aft deck for stable sailing characteristics. The draught of 1.60 m supports sufficient lateral stability for height upwind, while the design-related hull speed of around 6.5 kn reflects the performance potential of the waterline length. The centre cockpit clearly separates the working and living areas and provides a sheltered position for navigation in changing conditions. Below deck, the layout is designed as a two-cabin concept with a separate wet room and is designed for multi-day cruises with a small crew. The GRP construction of this construction period stands for structural strength and predictable movement behaviour in short waves. Compared to aft cockpit models from the same shipyard, the Dufour 28 Mezzo from Dufour Yachts s.a. has advantages in terms of protected cockpit position and spatial separation, while a Dufour 2800 is more orientated towards an open cockpit concept.
