Excellent boat spoiled with poor quality My Quicksilver 905 Active weekend has 2 200Hp outboard engines. They are more than enough to move the boat, actually two 150 hp could be a better choice. The boat is sturdy and it can be taken out to rough sea. Top cabin is a bit narrow and cooking facilities unpractical, but on the other hand it is possible to walk safely round the deck. The main cabin is big enough and the cabin below has a huge bed. Since the boats has outboards, there is a big space under aft deck. I have installed there a generator. The quality of building leaves something to hope for. Water passages in the bottom were foll with debris and had to be cleaned in order to let water go to the bildge pump. When the generator was installed, we found out that there was a wooden plate in the bottom soaked with water. It had no coating what so ever. We were lucky to find it early enough. Some of the fuel connector screws were screwed to air and breather hose was loose. Cleats on the side became loose and we had to drill a hole to tighten them. Next time is easier... Manufacturer forgot to put insulation on the walls and they had to be installed afterwards, that was made under factory recall. Quicksilver is not my first boat. I am used to fix them and for me these problems are reasonable. However for someone getting the first boat, it would be nice to have them ready to sail without checking that everything is made the way you have paid. PS Quick silver is the first boat with good wind screen wipers!
