Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 42 F is 12.96 metres long and was the shipyard's first and only model for which the designer Germán Frers was named. It thus marks a break with the previous Enderlein generation. Instead of a long keel, the Hallberg-Rassy 42 F utilises a fin keel and a free-standing spade rudder on the partial keel, which reduces resistance and makes handling more direct. It is rigged as a sloop and ends the ketch tradition at Hallberg-Rassy in this size class. The protected centre cockpit with internal passageway to the aft cabin remains characteristic. The galley is located in the aft passageway and offers work space at sea. Wide side decks, a GRP construction and a clearly structured rig characterise the model. Compared to the older Hallberg-Rassy 42 with a long keel, the Hallberg-Rassy 42 F has a more modern design and is easier to manoeuvre. The Hallberg-Rassy 42 F is suitable for sailors planning longer voyages and ocean cruises.
