Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 40 is a sailing yacht from the Swedish shipyard Hallberg-Rassy with a length of 12.4 metres. It belongs to the centre-cockpit series and offers a raised, protected helm position as well as an internal passageway to the aft cabin. In terms of construction, the Hallberg-Rassy 40 utilises a more modern hull design based on the Frers design, with a fuller stern area and therefore more space in the aft section. In contrast to older models, the steering system works with a free-standing rudder without a skeg. Below deck there is a saloon, a galley at the companionway and a separate wet room. The galley is often more spacious and forms a functional passageway to the aft cabin. Wide side decks and fixed handrails ensure safe passageways on deck. Compared to the Hallberg-Rassy 39, the Hallberg-Rassy 40 has a more modern design and offers more volume in the stern area. The Hallberg-Rassy 40 is suitable for longer coastal and ferry trips with a small crew.
