Description
The Malö 40 is a 9.55 metre long, seaworthy sailing yacht with a centre cockpit that was built from 1971 to 1990. The GRP hull has a long keel and is designed for quiet running characteristics and safe behaviour on longer trips. The cockpit is protected in the centre of the boat and is often equipped with a fixed windscreen. Below deck, the boat offers a classic layout with a forward cabin, saloon, galley, navigation area and separate aft cabin with access from the cockpit. A wet room is also integrated. This layout was unusual for a boat under 10 metres in the 1970s. Compared to the larger Malö 36, the Malö 40 offers a similar room concept with aft cabin and centre cockpit despite its shorter length. The Malö 40 is aimed at sailors looking for a compact cruising yacht for longer trips.
