Description
The BAVARIA C-LINE C42 combines state-of-the-art yacht building technology with an impressive balance of space, comfort and sailing performance. At around 12.40 metres in length, she offers a significantly greater sense of space and comfort without sacrificing on sporty sailing performance. The distinctive hull bends (‘chines’) are a characteristic feature, which not only provide additional stability, but also a surprisingly wide interior, resulting in spacious cabins and a bright saloon. The broad stern with widely spaced steering wheels is another feature that immediately catches the eye and makes the difference to smaller models noticeable.

Review of the C42, year of manufacture 2021 - model year 2022, based on my experience I previously owned a Sunbeam 39 and now, due to space constraints, I have the C42. It's a great boat overall with good sailing characteristics. However, for a "Made in Germany" boat, I find certain aspects of the workmanship and design unacceptable. You really have to modify and improve the boat, both inside and out. For example, the anchor releases are too high, so the chain is constantly in the water. Lines leading to the cockpit chafe against the sprayhood's guide rail. These are just a few issues. It's a production yacht lacking attention to detail and thorough planning. But what I find worst of all is the service for obtaining spare parts, modifications, and upgrades. You're completely on your own with both SVB and Bavaria directly. I bought the boat used and would very much like to purchase more original parts. There's no chance of getting any, and I receive no real support. I find this very disappointing. With Sunbeam Schöchl, you definitely received more support directly from the shipyard. However, I don't want to be entirely negative; we're generally happy and satisfied with the layout and the generous amount of space. We're still working on the rest.
