Comfortable and bluewater-capable cruising yacht The Contest 44CS is a comfortable and bluewater cruising yacht, designed by Georg Nissen and built by Conyplex B.V. in Medemblik using the vacuum injection molding process. The boat achieves its maximum stiffness at a heel of 55 degrees, and only at a heel of 134 degrees does negative stability theoretically begin. The shallow-draft wing keel was designed by Piet van Oossanen, who, together with Ben Lexcen, helped Australia II achieve its legendary victory in the 1983 America's Cup.
